Rondebosch Rowing originally started in 1984. A renewed interest in the sport from 2006 produced some of South Africa’s elite rowers, competing at national and international events.  It is now 18 years old and is continually growing, with an active parent support team. Rondebosch Rowing has seen exciting growth and results in the last few years. With a brief hiatus in 2020 Rondebosch Rowing came back with a bang and now in 2024 has more rowers than ever before. 2024 results at SA Champs showed Bosch Rowing to be the top rowing school in the Western Cape.

Our coaches continue to train and produce rowers of excellence that qualify on a provincial and, most recently, national level. We proudly announced a Bosch Rower and Head coach reached the SA National Squad in 2024 and represented South Africa, in Canada, in August 2024.

Rowing is an exciting and challenging sport that attracts people who like being outside and working together with teammates to achieve a shared goal.

It’s a sport that teaches the importance of working. together, being committed, managing time well, and learning important life lessons. In rowing, you don’t need to have done it before, and your body size doesn’t matter – anyone can be a part of it.
